The Grand Priory of Canada and the Americas continues to evolve, and as its membership grows, the organizational structure will evolve to adapt the growing numbers in order to create a stronger regional presence, improve the effectiveness of The Order, and to optimize the administration costs within the Grand Priory.

The foundation of the Grand Priory are its Commanderies, which are established as the organization grows. This foundation of Commanderies is viewed as a more effective way to improved communications within the Grand Priory, which is critical for The Order's viability. The challenge is that the Commanderies are geographically distributed, given Canada is nearly 10,000,000 sq km in area. The minimum requirement to establish a Commandery in a region is to have no less than 10 active members.
